We assess and treat a range of conditions impacting speech clarity or intelligibility such as dysarthria, speech sound and phonological disorders,

At Nurture Speech, we assess and treat a range of challenges related to language including early language issues (late talkers), language delay or disorder and aphasia. 

We have additional experience and training to assess and manage dysfluency (stuttering) in preschoolers up to age 7 (Lidcombe Program). 

At Nurture Speech, we have additional experience and training to assess and treat paediatric feeding and swallowing disorders including: 

• Breast and bottle feeding challenges 

• Restricted diets “picky eating” 

• Difficulty transitioning to solids (gagging, coughing, choking, spitting food or pocketing)

• Sensory feeding challenges 

• Dysphagia, aspiration 

• Videofluoroscopic swallow study and flexible endoscopic swallow study experience and competencies (can support onward referral for same where indicated) 

• Neonatal feeding issues related to cleft lip and/or palate, tethered oral tissues (tongue tie), anatomical differences

• Feeding and swallowing challenges related to genetic disorders 

• Nasogastric or PEG feeding tube weaning 

We have experience with assessment and treatment of paediatric voice disorders including: 

• Dysphonia (voice issues) 

• Voice issues secondary to vocal cord palsy, vocal nodules, polyp

• Voice and/or swallowing issues related to tracheostomy 

• Tracheostomy speaking valve assessment and management 

• Airway disorders such as laryngo, tracheo and bronchomalacias and stenoses

• Chronic cough, laryngeal hypersensitivity 

• Vocal cord dysfunction (Inducible Laryngeal Obstruction) 

• Exercise induced ILO 

We have experience in using, trialling and supporting applications for AAC supports for children, young people and adults. Higher-tech AAC including: 

• Grid 3 and Grid for iPad 

• Proloquo2Go

• LAMP Words for Life 

• TD Snap

• Predictable 

Low tech/no tech AAC options such as: 

• Visuals 

• Core boards 

• PODD 

• Timetables and schedules 

We can support you to trial different AAC options and with any associated applications.
